Technics SL-1300G New Generation Grand Class Turntable
Turntable with a Hi-Fi design featuring ΔΣ-Drive, a new motor drive technology that delivers high rotational accuracy and low vibration. The turntable's new motor, three-layer platter, and high-rigidity chassis ensure even higher sound quality.
- Coreless direct drive motor achieving stable rotation
- ΔΣ-Drive suppresses vibrations from the motor for smoother, more accurate rotation
- Anti-vibration structure with a three-layer platter and a two-layer chassis
- Low-noise, low-voltage power circuit and a switching power supply
- Tonearm achieving high initial-motion sensitivity
- High-rigidity body and high-damping silicon insulators for smooth sound and isolation from various vibrations
Tonearm Achieving High Initial-Motion Sensitivity
The tonearm, a crucial component for precise reading, tracks the record's rotation. Inherited from Technics, it employs a lightweight, rigid aluminium pipe in the traditional static-balance universal S-shape. Featuring a gimbal suspension and high-precision bearing, it achieves high initial-motion sensitivity through manual assembly by skilled artisans. This meticulous construction ensures accurate tracing of record grooves. It also includes an auxiliary weight, providing flexibility for a variety of pickup cartridges.
Key Tech Specs
The SL-1300G brings Grand Class engineering to a new generation, pairing a coreless direct drive motor and ΔΣ-Drive with an individually balanced three-layer platter for 0.025% wow and flutter.

Coreless Direct Drive Motor
In the SL-1300G, the use of a coreless direct-drive motor with no iron core eliminates uneven rotation of the turntable known as cogging. The twin-rotor construction reduces the bearing load while maintaining high torque, and reduces minute vibrations during rotation. The motor was redesigned to eliminate subtle vibrations that could affect sound quality, and the coil mounting base uses the same reinforcement pattern as the Reference Class SL-1000R and SP-10R to improve rigidity. The ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive) system harnesses Technics' expertise in PWM signal processing: in addition to reducing harmonics, it suppresses vibrations from the motor for smoother, more accurate rotation.

Three-Layer Platter and Two-Layer Cabinet
The platter has a three-layered construction with a rigidly combined brass and aluminium die-cast body and deadening rubber covering its entire rear surface to eliminate unnecessary resonance. This delivers smooth rotational stability and inertial mass surpassing the SP-10MK2, as well as more than twice the inertial mass of the SL-1200MK5. Each platter is balanced at the factory on specialized high-precision equipment after assembly and labelled with a "BALANCED" sticker. The two-layered body solidly unifies BMC and an aluminium die-cast chassis, with reinforcing ribs added between the motor and tonearm on the top panel to improve rigidity and vibration damping.

Low-Noise Power Supply
A high-speed switching power supply ensures a stable supply capacity with less ripple and humming, and removes the need for a large transformer and countermeasures for the ensuing mechanical vibrations. A switching frequency above 100 kHz limits the impact of noise on the music playback bandwidth. Current Injection Active Noise Cancelling combines a noise detection device with an error amplifier, detecting residual noise in the power supply and applying an inverse phase current to remove noise components, removing low frequency noise more effectively than a regulator.
