Engineering precision

At the heart of the Platina CDT is a custom-developed transport mechanism engineered for smooth operation, stable tracking, and consistent error correction. A temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) governs the system clock: unlike conventional oscillators that drift as they warm up, causing subtle frequency shifts and timing errors, the TCXO actively monitors and compensates for temperature changes in real time, preserving a rock-solid digital clock. This keeps jitter low and maintains the integrity of the audio data sent to the partnering DAC, for a presentation with focus, control, improved spatial definition, and natural tonal balance.

The Platina CDT supports USB HDD playback, replaying files stored on USB devices through its digital output stage with support for FLAC, WAV, MP3, AAC, WMA, and APE.
