The Grado Aeon4 is a low-output moving iron phono cartridge from the Lineage Series, designed for use with high-gain phono stages. Its presentation is defined by clarity, control, and balance: detail is resolved with precision while the top end stays smooth and composed, the midrange carries natural weight and presence, and low frequencies arrive with definition and authority. Complex passages are resolved cleanly with strong separation and stable imaging, staying composed and coherent so the structure and character of the recording come through. The Aeon4 features a nude Shibata diamond mounted to a sapphire cantilever, prized for its rigidity and resistance to deformation, delivering clarity, extension, and stability across the frequency range. It is housed in a Brazilian Ebony wood body, refined to reduce mass and improve tonearm compatibility while controlling resonance and shaping tonal balance.
