Musical Fidelity M6xTT Turntable
M6xTT brings the design philosophy of the legendary M1 turntable, created by Musical Fidelity founder Antony Michaelson and Heinz Lichtenegger, into the M6 line. The base idea combines the inert mass of metal alloys with zero-resonating acrylic, decoupling the motor from the tonearm and platter with a dual-chassis construction. Following the flagship M8xTT, M6xTT is the second turntable to bring this design philosophy to market at a more affordable price point. As an authorized Musical Fidelity dealer in Toronto, Canada, Vinyl Sound can help you match this turntable to your phono stage and system.

9" Tonearm
The tonearm shares its design with the flagship M8xTT, but with a shorter tonearm tube, a streamlined headshell, and a direct 5P DIN output. It uses an ultra-low-resonance design with a transparent acrylic bearing ring and conical aluminium tonearm tube, fully adjustable for VTA and azimuth, and ships with two TPE-damped counterweights to prevent resonance.
Motor and Platter
The motor sits on special foam within the lower acrylic plinth, decoupling it from the platter and tonearm. Like the M8xTT, M6xTT uses a precision DC-driven AC generator to power the motor — the frequency and voltage are generated entirely from scratch by the control electronics, so playback speed isn't limited by the quality of your mains power. A one-piece belt, manufactured without gluing, connects the motor to the TPE-damped 6.6kg aluminium platter.
Feet and Plinth
Four heavyweight, TPE-damped aluminium feet with magnetic support connect the two acrylic plinths, separated by Teflon spacers. Each foot's height can be adjusted by turning its riffled middle section, letting you level the turntable precisely.
Review
"The M6xTT made the music flow without drawing attention to itself… and allowed the listener to be captivated by the music. Provides great timing and stability. Soundstage is wide and tall with good depth. Wonderful detail is on offer, both macro and micro." — Mark Busby, Soundstage! Australia, August 2025
