Synergistic Research Galileo SX Active Ground Block MKII
The Galileo SX Active Ground Block MKII is a re-engineered version of Synergistic Research's original Galileo SX Ground Block, built with technology developed for the company's flagship Galileo SX PowerCell line conditioner. Its chassis is machined from a solid billet of aluminum and carbon fibre to reduce chassis resonance. Inside, three Active EM Cells — two rolled cells in carbon fibre housings and one flat cell with a copper mesh ground plane — are biased by a new dual-channel, multi-frequency ULF generator with twice the signal strength of the original, powered by a redesigned linear power supply. With 70 ground ports, it's built to accommodate large, multi-component systems. As an authorized Synergistic Research dealer in Toronto, Canada, Vinyl Sound can help you determine how many ground connections your system needs, including grounding for turntables such as our Rega Planar 3 and Dr. Feickert Blackbird.

What's Inside
- 99.9995% pure 14 AWG silver point-to-point wiring
- 2x Active Folded EM Ground Cells, 25% larger than prior generations
- 1x flat EM Cell with a copper UEF Ground Plane (center of unit)
- UEF Orange Capacitors and multi-stage Quantum Tunneling treatment
- 2 dedicated ground ports for Synergistic Research Atmosphere and PowerCell conditioners
- 70 mini BFA ground ports total
- New Galileo SX MkII PCB and built-in linear power supply
- Gold tuning modules and a view window into the internal circui

Four ULF Bias Settings
- Purple — default setting for systems using a Synergistic Research Atmosphere or FEQ acoustic field generator; a blend between the Blue and Red character
- Blue — the most focused option, with strong dynamics and precise, forward imaging
- Red — maximum soundstage scale and depth with an enveloping presentation; works best alongside other Synergistic Research acoustic products like HFTs, Black Box, or an Atmosphere/FEQ generator
- Green — the default setting if you don't have an Atmosphere generator in your system (also the original default bias frequency on the first-generation Galileo SX PowerCell/Ground Block)

What Can Be Grounded to It
- Synergistic Research SRX, Galileo, and Atmosphere cables
- Synergistic Research Tranquility bases, Atmosphere, or FEQ generators
- Turntables and phono stages, via standard or small spade connection to a ground post
- DACs, reel-to-reel decks, preamplifiers, and power amplifiers, via a spare input/output or chassis ground
- USB devices and audio computers (via headphone jack)
- Metal equipment racks
- Any active-circuit component with a spare ground connection point
Galileo SX Ground Block MKII FAQ
How many components can I ground to it?
It provides 70 mini BFA ground ports, including 2 dedicated ports for Atmosphere and PowerCell conditioners, making it suitable for large, multi-component systems.
Which ULF setting should I use?
Purple and Red work well with other Synergistic Research acoustic products (Atmosphere, FEQ, HFT, Black Box). Green is the recommended starting point without those products. Blue offers the most focused, forward presentation. Experimentation is encouraged.
Can I ground my turntable to it?
Yes — most turntables and phono stages can be connected via a standard or small spade connector to their ground post.
How does the MKII compare to the Active Ground Block SX?
The Active Ground Block SX is Synergistic Research's more accessible ground block, with 32 ports and a single EM Cell design. The Galileo SX MKII steps up to 70 ports, three Active EM Cells, and four selectable ULF bias frequencies for larger or more demanding systems.
How does this compare to the entry-level Ground Block?
The Ground Block is a passive, 18-port entry point with no active circuitry. The Galileo SX MKII is the top tier — three Active EM Cells, a dual-channel ULF generator with four bias settings, and 70 ports.
