The Black Box Carbon is a passive acoustic resonator built on Synergistic Research's original Black Box platform, introduced over a decade ago. It uses a mathematically derived tuning algorithm based on sympathetic resonance — since frequencies across the audible bandwidth are harmonically linked, correcting phase at a low frequency such as 20Hz is designed to also improve its harmonic multiples (40Hz, 80Hz, 160Hz, and so on). The Black Box Carbon updates the original design with a more rigid carbon fibre and aluminum chassis — drawing on chassis research from Synergistic Research's Voodoo music server and PowerCell 14 line conditioner — along with a redesigned internal resonator array and refined UEF material construction. It's designed to reduce congestion and tighten bass definition in a room, and is optimized for stacking with additional Black Box Carbons or an original Black Box unit. Stacking Recommendations

The Black Box Carbon is designed to be stacked for greater effect. Two Black Box Carbons stacked together, or one Black Box Carbon on the bottom with an original Black Box on top, are both effective combinations — if you already own an original Black Box, adding a single Black Box Carbon underneath it can be nearly as effective as two Black Box Carbons stacked.
