AKG | Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

Founded in Vienna, Austria in 1947 by physicist Rudolf Görike and engineer Ernst Pless, AKG short for Akustische und Kino-Geräte, or "Acoustic and Cinema Equipment" has spent nearly eight decades shaping the sound of professional recording and critical listening worldwide. The brand pioneered the world's first open-back over-ear headphone (K50, 1959), the first dynamic/electrostatic hybrid headphone (K340, 1970s), and received a Technical Grammy Award in 2010 for its contributions to the art and science of recording. Now part of Harman International, a Samsung subsidiary, AKG's K-series headphones remain studio staples and hi-fi reference standards from the widely used K240 studio monitor and the open-back K702 favoured by mixing engineers, to the flagship K812. At Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada, we carry AKG headphones for home listening, critical monitoring, and everything in between.
